Detailed instructions are provided on Moodle regarding guidance for each department and lesson method. Also, many classes starting from May use Moodle. To learn how to use Moodle, please log in to Moodle early and check the information. Especially new students can introduce themselves using Moodle, so please respond. Link to Moodle.

Students are not allowed to enter all campuses in principle.
When truly necessary, students are allowed entry with a written permit (permission email) from their supervising teacher.
Much information and instructions from Chiba university are posted on the official website or distributed by e-mail. Please check them often.

- Science Building No.5 is under repair for preservation purpose from November 2019 to April 2020. All the laboratories and offices in the building are relocated temporarily in the Interdisciplinary Research Building (R10). Introduction
Department of Earth Sciences consists of 9 groups at the undergraduate level, while of 7 groups at the graduate level for specialized education and research. The research of these groups covers various aspects of dynamic processes in global system based on geological, geophysical, geochemical, geomorphologic and remote-sensing disciplines. In addition to their major scientific projects for understanding the global system, they also contribute to make many social benefits, such as predicting natural hazards, discovering mineral, water and petroleum resources, and preserving natural environment.
